4th Annual Arbor Day
@ Gladstone Nature Park
Saturday, April 27, 2019
Join the Friends of Gladstone Nature Park and the Gladstone community for the
4th Annual Arbor Day Celebration at the
Gladstone Nature Park on Saturday, April 27, 2019
from 10:00am-2:00pm.
Mayor Tammy Stempel will kick-off the event at 10:00am with planting a new White Oak tree in the meadow.
Reverend Ken McCormick from Tri-City Baptist Temple will offer some words.
The Arbor Day Celebration will include nature activities, live music, great food, kids arts & crafts, fine art, a nature walk, and lots of healthy fun! Come join us... Recycle your old holiday lights and electronics with the Kraxberger Gearheads. Safely dispose of expired prescriptions with the Gladstone Police Department. Walk the trails and learn about the Nature Park's unique habitat from forest experts, including Glen Ahrens from the Clackamas County Extension Service.
A special treat this year, arborist Brian French with the Oregon Champion Tree Registry will demonstrate his skills by climbing the largest Oak Tree in the meadow. French and his team have been featured on OPB for their work in assessing these giants for size, age and health. Learn more about this important work at Champion Tree Registry.
The Native Plant Sale returns, sponsored by Bosky Dell Natives. The sale includes plants that are specifically grown for success in Willamette Valley landscapes. Many of these plants attract birds and pollinators. From 4" pots to 2-gallon containers, there's something beautiful for everyone. All proceeds benefit FOGNAP.
Parking is available on Cason Road across from the park in designated areas.
Handicap parking is available at the Webster Ridge Apartments.
